To a solution of 4-Bromophenoxyacetic acid (1.20 g, 4.66 mmol) in anhydrous dichioromethane (10 mL) was added oxalyl chloride (0.59 g, 4.66 mmol)followed by a few drops of N,N-dimethylformamide at 0 C.
