Piperazine is an organic compound that consists of a six-membered ring containing two nitrogen atoms at opposite positions in the ring. 103-76-4, formula is C6H14N2O, Name is N-(2-Hydroxyethyl)piperazine. Piperazine exists as small alkaline deliquescent crystals with a saline taste. Related Products of 103-76-4.
Muscia, Gisela C.;Roldan Pacheco, Federico J.;Asis, Silvia E.;Buldain, Graciela Y.;Frank, Fernanda M. research published 《 Hit-to-lead optimization of novel 2-alkylaminomethylquinoline derivatives as anti-chagas agents》, the research content is summarized as follows. The synthesis of rationally-based novel analogus of polysubstituted quinolines I (R = H, CH2CH3; R1 = [(3-aminopropyl)amino]methyl, [4-(2-hydroxyethyl)piperazin-1-yl]methyl, (4-benzyl-1,4-diazepan-1-yl)methyl, etc.) family of compounds has been reported. All the evaluated compounds presented trypanocidal activity. Three of them I (R = H, R1 = [(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)amino]methyl; R = H, R1 = [(1-benzylpiperidin-4-yl)amino]methyl; R = CH2CH3, R1 = (4-benzyl-1,4-diazepan-1-yl)methyl) stand out for their selectivity indexes. I (R = CH2CH3, R1 = (4-benzyl-1,4-diazepan-1-yl)methyl) was found to display anti-parasite activity, presenting the highest selectivity index. Apart from controlling in vivo the parasitemia levels, I (R = CH2CH3, R1 = (4-benzyl-1,4-diazepan-1-yl)methyl) was able to prevent tissue inflammation, a key factor to prevent the progression to chronic chagasic cardiomyopathy. The therapeutic effects of I (R = CH2CH3, R1 = (4-benzyl-1,4-diazepan-1-yl)methyl) are promising and suggest a new possibility to treat this disease.

1-(2-Hydroxyethyl)piperazine is a chemical solvent that is used for the absorption of amines and other compounds. It has been shown to have a high affinity for acidic substances, which may be due to its ability to form hydrogen bonds with them. 1-(2-Hydroxyethyl)piperazine is also used in sample preparation for the analysis of amines and other compounds in fruit extracts. The solubility of 1-(2-Hydroxyethyl)piperazine depends on the experimental conditions, including pH, temperature, and pressure. FT-IR spectroscopy has been used to measure the vibrational modes of 1-(2-Hydroxyethyl)piperazine molecules. The IR spectrum revealed that this compound contains a hydroxyl group and two fatty acid chains with one or more hydroxyl groups at their terminal end. The nmr spectrum showed that 1-(2-Hydroxyethyl)piperazine contains an NH proton as well as, 103-76-4.
