To a solution of 1-piperazin-1-ylethanone (2.00 g, 15.6 mmol) and K 2CO 3 (4.31 g, 31.2 mmol) in CH 3CN (50.0 mL) was added 3-bromopropan-1-ol (3.25 g, 23.4 mmol).
