Intermediate 4 (2.33 mmol) and fert-butyl (35)-3-ethylpiperazine-l-carboxylate (0.5 g, 2.33 mmol) in DMF (10 mL) were heated at 80C with DIPEA (3.5 mmol) for 6 h. After cooling, the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 days, then concentrated in vacuo. The residue was partitioned between EtOAc and brine, then the organic layers were dried over sodium sulfate and concentrated in vacuo. The resulting crude material was purified by column chromatography (silica gel: 100-200 mesh, 100% EtOAc) to give the title compound (200 mg, 23.5%) as a white foam.
