General procedure: Arylpiperazines (1.2 equiv) and potassium carbonate (4.0 equiv)were added to a solution of 2 (100 mg, 0.43 mmol) in acetonitrile(CH3CN, 15 mL). The reaction mixture was heated to 85 C and stirred for 16 h. Afterward the mixture was cooled to room temperature. The reaction mixture was filtered, and the filtrate was concentrated invacuo.
