The mixture was heated at reflux for 16 h. The mixture was allowed to cool to room temperature and poured into water. The resulting aqueous layer was extracted with EtOAc and the combined organic layers washed with brine, dried over Na2SO4 and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated and the residue purified by flash chromatography on silica gel (5-10% MeOH/DCM) to afford the title compound as a brown liquid (2.1 g, 39%). MS (ES+): m/z 257 (M+H)+.
